|The big Crystal Globes for the IBU World Cup Total Score were awarded to Martin Fourcade and Gabriela Soukalova late yesterday afternoon in a ceremony at the Hotel Olympic in Khanty Mansiysk.|
The ceremony was held at the hotel after the final mass start completions were cancelled due to the excessively high winds that resulted in unsafe conditions for both the athletes and fans.
Fourcade: 1151 Points
Fourcade claimed his fifth title in a row with 1151 points, his second highest total in his five-year reign. Second place went to Johannes Thingnes Boe, with 820 points, flowed by Anton Shipulin, 806 points, Simon Schempp, 769 points and Simon Eder, 714 points.
Soukalova: 1074 Points
Soukalova's title, with 1074 points, was the first in her career and the first-ever for the Czech Republic; her previous best was fourth in the 2013-14 season. Second went to Marie Dorin Habert with 1028 points, followed by Dorothea Wierer, 944 points, Kaisa Mäkäräinen, 892 points and Franziska Hildebrand, 793 points.
At the same ceremony, Tatiana Akimova of Russia recieved the IBU Rookie of the Year award; her teammate Anton Babikov had received his Rookie of the Year award previously.
